There is no age limit, there are patients who got hair transplants from the age of 20, up to 90 years.

It’s mandatory that the donor area (nape) is shaved at number 0. Although much depends on the look that the patient wears, the most usual is to use a military-type cut (short cap), where the top (area to be transplanted) doesn’t need to be cut, and the donor area is shaved. You can also make a curtain cut, ideal for people with straight and long hair, where the donor area is shaved to 0, but with the length of the hair the shaved area is covered, leaving it imperceptible.

The final result is achieved on average after 12 months. However, from the 2nd week we can already see the effectiveness of the hair transplant by observing a very firm and growing “carpet of little hairs”.

Discontinue any type of hair treatment /product such as: shampoos, lotions, pills, multivitamins. Also discontinue the use of anti-inflammatory drugs for some other medical reason, and the use of anticoagulants. Don’t consume alcoholic beverages, or tobacco 24 hours before, and start drinking arnica tea, which helps with the anti-inflammatory process.

Although this varies depending on the pain threshold of each patient, in general terms it’s a procedure that for most is zero painful, even the placement of anesthesia is tolerable.

The type of anesthesia used is local. Only the area where we are going to work (donor area and implantation area) is put to sleep. During the procedure, patients are awake, relaxed, reading, listening to music, some even fall asleep.

There are no complications, no infections, no bleeding, no scars and no permanent marks on the skin.

The only “adverse effect” that could occur is swelling in the forehead, face, and eyelids after the procedure due to anesthesia, however, it’s completely normal, since the liquid will be absorbed by the body and that doesn’t cause any risk, nor harm.

It’s important to review after 5 days of the procedure, to evaluate resuming daily activities at 100%, including exercise.
